I received the backordered part for the Horizontal Stabilator, the counterweight arm, in June and thus moved back to completing the skeleton assembly.
The backordered part didn’t block me completely, I could certainly have worked ahead a little, but I didn’t really want to put the ribs on prior to getting the counterbalance arm drilled per the plans with perhaps the ribs getting in the way, or me having riveted myself into a corner prematurely. I will still have some “wait time” for the wing kit and fuselage kit to arrive.
So I spent a smallish number of hours (6) fully completing the skeleton assembly which included drilling the counterweight arm, installing brackets to the spar, and then preparing (deburring, fluting, priming) the ribs of the horizontal stabilator then riveting them into the place. The skins will be next, and this largeish part will be done!
